In reality, you are citizens of the United States of America, the State of Wisconsin, the county, and city or town where you live. The speakers you hear will discuss state, county and municipal government in Wisconsin and its governmental subdivisions. Your purpose in being at Badger Girls State is to learn as much as possible about those levels of government in Wisconsin.
 

    A state without any political parties would be unrealistic, so there are two political parties in Badger Girls State. . The Federalists and The Nationalists. Just as the people within the various political parties in our state formulate their respective party platforms, so The Federalists and The Nationalists draw up their Badger Girls State party platform to reflect the attitudes and ideas of the citizens who belong to each party.
 

    Think of Badger Girls State as a miniature of the State of Wisconsin, having the same history, tradition, natural resources, population, problems and the same wealth of resources. However, all of its citizens are citizens of Badger Girls State.
 

    In Badger Girls State new state laws will be passed or old ones changed. This is done in accordance with established procedures. The Constitution’s of the United States and Wisconsin are applicable to Badger Girls State. Badger Girls State cities and counties operate similar to real Wisconsin municipalities. Our citizens study government, and the pattern followed is that of Wisconsin, although adaptations are made in order to fit into the week’s program.
 

    Always remember, you are becoming more knowledgeable about Wisconsin’s Government - Municipal, County and State - and we hope you are becoming more interested and involved citizens. This is what we of the American Legion Auxiliary strive to attain in this Americanism program.
