2010 Badger Girls State Interest Groups

Americanism/Community Service: Making Americanism fit in your community.
Badger Tales Artwork: Please indicate your specialty. Choose from cartoons, calligraphy and artwork for the daily newspaper. Please send a sample of your work to: Loretta Shellman, P.O. Box 128, Oconto Falls, WI 54154.
Band: The band plays at most group functions. The music consists of patriotic, pop and March. Please indicate what instrument(s) you play. If band is your first choice, please bring your stand and instrument (other than drums--just bring your sticks and stand). If band is your second choice or if you indicate that you play more than one instrument, the band director will contact you. Check your instrument in at Albee Hall with the director prior to registration. First practice is at 12:30 on Sunday.
Chorus: Please indicate your voice part, whether you are a soloist, the vocal and accompaniment on the piano. If you are a soloist please bring music appropriate for procession or background.
Lobbyist: As a lobbyist you will choose to be for or against a bill that your Senate or Assembly has written. You will attend hearings on the bills to speak for or against your chosen bills to advise the Senate or Assembly on the bill. This is a good interest group for people with strong opinions.
Multimedia: This group is for approximately 15 girls interested in taking pictures during the week and preparing a Power Point presentation at the final assembly. A personal digital camera, memory stick and USB port is needed for this. The girls in this group will also be responsible for creating and maintaining a website for the week at BGS.
Parliamentary Procedure: The proper way to run any meeting.
Patriotism Group: This interest group will learn about various flag procedures. Including reading of flag prose, being involved in the flag processional for the Inauguration Ceremony, and a flag folding activity at our closing ceremony. You may also have the opportunity to be involved in the Flag Disposal Ceremony. If you would like to participate in this interest group, please bring proper attire: Navy blue dressy slacks (No Capri's. No Jeans), a white short sleeved blouse with collar worn tucked in and white tennis shoes.
Physical Activity: Run/Walk--bring proper shoes.
